House Washed Away By Floods

This is the dramatic moment a wooden home was dragged into a flooded river and washed away during floods in the village of Montalban in Rizal province, Philippines on August 12. The Nipa hut - a type of stilt house indigenous to the cultures of the Philippines - had been on the same spot for several decades. But after heavy rains over the last few days, the river below had turned into a raging torrent which broke through a concrete wall, causing the ground that the home was on to collapse.
