Center's step forward against rapes; 18 page guidelines sent across

The centre has prepared 18-page set of guidelines to strengthen investigation and prosecution in cases of sexual assault which includes better forensic medical examination to help identify the suspects better. The list includes different kinds of evidence that has to be collected in such cases of sexual assault. The move comes in the backdrop of brutal shelter home horrors and SC's rebuke against the centre, and according to the centre, will help link suspects of crime. The Supreme Court pulled up the centre earlier observing that the rape cases in the country were on the rise. The government had set up a different division at the home ministry to strengthen the prosecution in sexual assault cases.
