South Korea was world's seventh highest consumer of electricity in 2017: Data

A new report has found that -- perhaps unsurprisingly -- that China is the world's number one consumer of electricity,... using nearly 57-hundred terawatt hours last year.
Data compiled by London-based statistics and research firm Enerdata shows China was followed by the U.S., India and Japan -- in that order.
South Korea was seventh on the list.
It's estimated the country expended around 534 terawatt hours in 2017... and the rate of increase has been rising fast since 2015.
Industries using the most power in South Korea include those in the steel, petrochemical and semiconductor sectors.
