USTR to hold hearing on proposed new tariffs on Chinese goods
  • 6 years ago
The United States is set to hold a public hearing on its proposal to impose a second round of tariffs on Chinese goods.
The U.S. Trade Representative said in a statement that it would hold a two-day hearing on Tuesday and Wednesday, local time, on its proposal to impose tariffs on 16 billion U.S. dollars of Chinese imports....as a response to what it claims are Beijing's unfair trade practices like intellectual property theft.
The Trump administration has already imposed tariffs on 34 billion dollars of Chinese goods, and the proposal would raise the total amount to 50 billion dollars.
