A man was allegedly beaten to death by mob in Rajasthan's Alwar. The incident took place in Ramgarh village of Alwar on the night of July 20. He was beaten up on suspicion of cow smuggling. The other man who accompanied him, escaped. According to Anil Beniwal, ASP Alwar, it is not clear if they were cattle smugglers. The body has been sent for postmortem. The police is trying to identify the culprits. A case has been registered and police investigation is underway. Alwar has witnessed attacks in the name of cow protection in the last two years. Dairy farmer Pehlu Khan was killed in a mob attack in April. Relatives of Umar Mohammed, who was found dead by railway tracks in Alwar in November 2017, have alleged that he was killed by cow vigilantes. The Supreme Court last week asked Parliament to come up with a law to tackle cow vigilantism and Lynch mobs.
