Two Koreas inspect railways in North Korea along east coast on Friday

Officials from the two Koreas are done with their first day of joint railway inspections.
Today, they checked the rail lines north of the border along the eastern coast.
The authorities looked into three train stations along the section running between Mount Kumgang and the Military Demarcation Line... and discussed how they should conduct the joint inspection.
Seoul's unification ministry says... the overall facilities, such as the roadbed and the railtracks, were in good shape.
Next Tuesday, the two sides will meeting again up North.
This time to check the western rail lines.
The move comes.... after an agreement was reached in June... to modernize railways in North Korea.... as well as those that cut across the border.
