to Be Jailed by US Judge Russian agent Maria Butina was jailed on Wednesday pending trial. Federal prosecutors warned that she has ties to Russian intelligence and was a flight risk. The Justice Department says she has been in regular contact with Russian intelligence. On Sunday, Butina was arrested and charged with conspiracy to act as an agent for the Russian government. Prosecutor Erik Kenerson, via NPR Following the ruling, Butina was led out of the courtroom by U.S. Marshals' deputies.
