Michelle Wolf has once again mocked White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders' eye makeup.
The comedian tweeted Saturday, "loving the new summer eye shadow. What is it lie-lac?"
That jab included a rebuttal to an assertion Sanders had made about CNN.
The controversy began Friday when CNN's Jim Acosta attempted to interject with a question during President Trump's joint press conference with British Prime Minister Theresa May.
"CNN is fake news," Trump declared, before taking a question from a Fox News reporter instead. "I don't take questions from CNN."
Later, CNN claimed that its scheduled interview with National Security Adviser John Bolton was canceled by the administration.
"Update: @AmbJohnBolton had been locked in for tomorrow's @CNNSOTU," CNN anchor Jake Tapper tweeted on Saturday. "Then the president attacked CNN during his UK presser, and our WH correspondent tried to ask a question. We are told Amb. Bolton remains fully prepared to do the interview but the White House has canceled it."
In response, Sanders tweeted: "Actually a @CNN reporter disrespected @POTUS & PM May during their press conf. Instead of rewarding bad behavior, we decided to reprioritize the TV appearances for administration officials."
While she did not go into further detail, she was likely referring to Acosta's verbal requests to ask a question during the press event without being called on.
As such, Wolf, who had stirred controversy by making fun of Sanders' smokey eye makeup during the White House Correspondents' dinner, tweeted about her "lie-lac" shade along with the comment: "Actually @POTUS disrespected PM May and @CNN and the Queen and the UK."
