33 states. At least 30 of the people infected from the outbreak have been hospitalized An updated advisory from the CDC recommends consumers throw away the cereal "regardless of package size or best-by date." It's still not clear how the contamination might
have occurred. Most people infected with salmonella develop a fever, cramps or diarrhea within 12 to 72 hours. The illness usually lasts about four to seven days and most healthy individuals recover without the need for treatment.
