According to Reuters, weather experts said on Thursday that the weather system known as Chris has weakened from hurricane status to a post-tropical cyclone. The National Hurricane Center said the storm is racing towards Cape Race and the Avalon peninsula of Newfoundland. The cyclone is currently about 275 miles southwest of Cape Race, Newfoundland, with maximum sustained winds of 70 miles per hour.
