Super Moon following Typhoon Maria on the 13-16th could cause coastal flooding
  • 6 years ago
We'll be seeing the second so-called "Super Moon" of the year from July 13th to 16th.
During that period,... the moon will be closer to the Earth than usual,.... and the stronger tidal forces will lead to higher spring tides.
And according to the Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency,.... the Super Moon could coincide with Typhoon Maria, causing coastal flooding in South Korea.
The agency is likely to issue an 'alert' level advanced warning,... which is the second highest warning level,... for Incheon, Mokpo, Masan, and Seongsanpo.
People should also be extra careful between 10 PM local time, Thursday.... and 6 AM local time, Friday.... when the sea level will be at its highest.
