Section 377 hearing Centre leaves it to Supreme Court to decide constitutionality of Section 377

The Supreme Court on Wednesday resumed the hearing on petitions for the decriminalisation of Section 377 of the IPC and police protection to LGBTQ people's sexual preferences. A 5-judge bench headed by CJI Dipak Misra is hearing the petitions. As per the latest updates, the Centre has passed the bucket to the Supreme Court to decide the constitutionality of Section 377.
