Trump criticizes EU for "lack of" NATO spending ahead of NATO Summit

U.S. President Donald Trump has once again raised tensions with America's European and NATO allies just a day before he attends a summit of the Western alliance.
Before he left for Brussels on Tuesday, this is what he had to say…

"……..We are being taken advantage of by the European Union. We lost 151 billion (US) dollars last year on trade. And on top of that we spent at least 70 percent for NATO. And frankly it helps them a lot more than it helps us…..

His comments sparked an immediate rebuke from European Council President Donald Tusk.

"….Europeans spend on defence many times more than Russia and as much as China. And I think you can have no doubt, Mr. President, that this is an investment in common American and European defence and security…… dear America, appreciate your allies. After all, you don't have that many……
