Fast-Moving California Wildfire, Just One Of Dozens, Prompts Evacuations

According to a report by Reuters, Santa Barbara County officials declared a local emergency early on Saturday as a fast-moving wildfire driven by strong winds and high temperatures tore through homes, forcing 3,200 residents to evacuate the area. One of over three dozen wildfires in the western United States, known as the Holiday Fire, broke out near Goleta, California, on Friday night before burning through 50 to 80 acres and damaging or destroying 20 buildings.
