Los Angeles-area wildfire prompts evacuations

California bore down Saturday against the continuing wildfires and heat that have forced the evacuations of hundreds of homes as warnings of extreme fire danger predicted stormy winds and scorching, dry air.
Some evacuations were lifted by early Saturday morning.
