At least 33 people have died in a heat wave that has been baking the southern part of the Canadian province of Quebec for a nearly a week.
It marks the worst heat Quebec has seen in decades, with temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius along with high humidity.
The death toll has been rising daily, with most victims aged between 50 and 80.
Most of the fatalities were reported in Montreal, the most populous city in the province.
Heat warnings will remain in effect for city through Thursday night, when a cold front is expected to pass into the region.
