Spain rescue service saves 182 people in Strait of Gibraltar

Cadiz, Jun 22 (EFE), (Camera: Andrés Carrasco).- A Spanish government sea search and rescue organization on Friday saved 182 people who were attempting to travel across the Strait of Gibraltar on board precarious dinghies.
Salvamento Maritimo's rescue operations began before dawn and lasted almost nine hours, as four of its vessels helped the 18 rafts that were found some 32 kilometers (20 miles) southwest of the southern town of Tarifa.
 "In total we have rescued 182 people in this area traveling in 18 dinghies," said the organization on its official Twitter account alongside an image taken on Friday of four people on an inflatable raft waving for help at dawn.
Of those rescued, 166 were adult men, 14 were were children.
