Hello I'm Michelle Park here with the latest weather update. Today, Seoul saw the highest reading so far this season while some regions even got heat wave alerts.

Into the weekend, those alerts will go out to more regions as temperatures rise.

It doesn't seem to be cooling off much during the night because the morning temps are now higher,... breaking 20 degrees Celsius for most parts, including here in Seoul.

Into the day, Seoul is at 29, Gwangju 32 and Daegu at 34 degrees. Under these conditions, there's a higher risk of sunstroke, so avoid spending too long on activities outdoors and drink lots of water.

This intense heat will ease with the monsoon rain next week. It's expected to pour starting in Jeju,... eventually wetting the rest of the nation until Wednesday.
