Japan's reluctance to make history right and settle its past wrongdoings kept relations sour: Rodong Shinmun

Japan's efforts to get on North Korea's good side don't seem to be working out so well.
North Korea's official newspaper, the Rodong Shinmun.... brought up Japan's responsibility for its wrongdoings during its colonial rule.
The paper said.... that relations between North Korea and Japan remain sour because of Tokyo's reluctance to settle its past wrongdoings.
It added that.... Japan cannot hide or be free from its past,... and said, it should acknowledge its wrongdoings and provide compensation.
The North Korean report comes just a day after the Japanese government announced that it's halting all evacuation drills following the North's pledge to denuclearize.
Japan is the only one of North Korea's neighbors yet to hold summit talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
