The controversial appointment of Minister Emmalin Pierre’s husband as head of the Financial Intelligence Unit has once again come to the fore.
Superintendent of Police, Tafawa Pierre was part of a three-person delegation to the 4th Annual Regional Conference of the Commonwealth Caribbean Association of Integrity Commissions, Anti-Corruption Bodies held in the Turks & Caicos Islands from the 4th-8th June.
During a press conference this morning, convened by the Office of the Integrity Commission to give the outcome of the regional function, among the questions posed to Superintendent Pierre was his installation as Director of the Financial Intelligence Unit while his wife was a member of Cabinet.
Tonnia St. Louis-Lawrence has that story.
