Militants in Gaza launched at least 45 rockets toward Israel early Wednesday morning.
CNN reports that Israel sent airstrikes from Israeli fighter jets in response.
Seven of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome aerial defense system.
Three landed in populated areas and a fourth landed close to a kindergarten.
There were no reports of any Israeli injuries.
