EUGENE, OREGON — When you stop by most animal shelters, many of the animals are locked up in cages, however one Oregon shelter decided to go all out with their pooch palaces.

The Luvable Dog Rescue is located in Eugene, Oregon and sits on 55 acres of trees, trails and the great outdoors.

The shelter offers rescued pit bulls a home-like environment featuring cozy, colorful cabins, furnitures, and other creature comforts.

Watching the pits interact in a home setting can help staff inform potential adopters.

The shelter's executive director Liesl Wilhardt told PupJournal that the shelter is to make each dog's stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Wilhardt said she built the "pit bull palace" to make dogs feel more comfortable. She also hopes to build a maternity ward for doggie moms.

The rescue is currently home to 10 pit bulls and 30 small breed dogs.
