On Tuesday, Reuters reports that violence flared up in several parts of the southwest, with government warplanes launching airstrikes near a rebel-held village. The conflict in the southwest has reportedly been complicated by the role of Iran-backed forces and Israel's demands for them to be kept away from the occupied Golan Heights area and, more broadly, to be removed from Syria entirely.
