Monsoon rains devastate Rohingya refugees camps in Bangladesh

Heavy rains and landslides hit Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh as Monsoon season picks up.

The footage, captured on June 12, shows a huge torrent of water inundating a camp in Cox's Bazar District.

The filmer writes: ''We were doing food and some NFI relief distribution to 1000 families.

''We had to delay the distribution due to heavy rain and so while looking around the camp, we saw how much water had already filled up the lower part of the camp.

''This is going to get worse and already 200,000 Rohingya refugees are under threat from flooding due to monsoon rains.''

Thousands of hundreds of Rohingya have been forced to flee Myanmar for Bangladesh over the past 11 months due to a religious persecution that has been ongoing for decades.
