Singer Who Lost Jaw To Cancer Has Mouth Rebuilt Using Parts Of His Arm

A singer who lost part of his jaw to cancer has made a miracle recovery to rejoin his choir after having his mouth reconstructed - using skin from his ARM. Marcus Bennison, 65, was left unable to speak or eat after being diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma in October last year. The retired lecturer was referred to hospital after his dentist noticed a suspicious-looking cyst at the back of his tongue. He was told the disease was in danger of spreading to his brain and the only treatment was surgery, which carried the risk of the performer losing his deep bass tones. But since treatment Mr Bennison has made a remarkable recovery and is back to doing what he loves, rehearsing again with his choir, 'Choros Amici'.
