Holidaymaker Dies And 12yo Daughter Hospitalised After Scuba Diving Accident.

The 45 year-old and the youngster got into trouble at Portholland in Cornwall shortly after 5pm on Tuesday. They were pulled from the water by passersby and there are no lifeguards at the site. A coastguard helicopter, air ambulance and paramedics raced to the scene but the dad was pronounced dead after they arrived. His daughter was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth where police said her condition was not serious. The father is believed to have been on holiday in the area with his wife and children. Superintendent Ian Drummond Smith said: "The family involved were from outside the area and are believed to have been holidaying in Cornwall.
