Bird of prey struggles to fly off with fat rabbit

This is the moment a bird of prey couldn't quite lift its lunch - when it tried to pick up a FAT rabbit. The eagle - spotted by bemused Steve Moran in Plushabridge, Cornwall - had swooped down to pick up its prey but struggled to get it off the ground. Mr Moran, 46, said: "The eagle was trying to pick up a bit of road kill. "The young bird saw the rabbit and said I'm having some of that. "But he couldn't get it off the ground - he was just dragging it along the floor." "It was hilarious." The huge bird - which had a wingspan of around 120cm - struggled for around a minute, dragging the body along the floor. But eventually it had to give up and go find a lighter lunch. "He looked chuffed at first with his find but had to give up in the end," said Mr Moran.
