Christmas trees plucked from a forest by helicopter

Christmas trees bound for towns and city centres have been plucked from a forest -- using a helicopter. Norway spruces picked from Kielder Forest in Northumberland are set to go to various town and city centres north and south of the border as part of festive celebrations. Harvested by a specialist team from Elveden Farms - who farm trees on sites across the UK -- the pines will be carefully felled by a chainsaw before being fitted with a harness to be airlifted by helicopter.
