CCTV footage of Peter Gill on his bike about to be hit by a Premier Travel bus. - A cyclist returning home with a valentines gift for his fiance almost died when he went under a bus in the city centre has been awarded £275,000 compensation. Peter Gill had bought his fianceé a Valentine's gift in Nottingham and was returning home when he was hit by a Premiere Travel bus in Angel Row. The 57-year-old bounced off the windscreen and was trapped underneath the vehicle for half-an-hour before the emergency services managed to free him. Mr Gill went into a coma, which lasted for six months, and doctors told his family there was a high chance he would die.
