S. Korea's exports rise 13.5% y/y in May, posting 5th highest record

On the trade front,
South Korea's outbound shipments in May made a turnaround from that short fall in April,... rising nearly 14 percent compared to the same period last year.
Korea's trade ministry says the country logged a near 51-billion U.S. dollars of exports last month, making the country's fifth highest ever monthly figures.
It also the third straight month that the country's exports topped the 50-billion dollar mark.
Imports also surged 12.6 percent on-year in May to 44.3 billion dollars.
The trade surplus for May came to 6.7 billion dollars --- the 76th straight month of trade surplus.
