Over Memorial Day weekend, former Obama White House official Valerie Jarrett was the target of a racist tweet from actress and comedian Roseanne Barr. Jarrett has been a long time target of criticism as a result of her prominent position in the Obama administration. In 2014, she was harshly attacked after the Democrats preformed poorly in the midterm elections. After ending her tenure in the Obama administration, Jarrett has mostly stayed out of the spotlight.
