A close adviser to Obama says that the president is proud of ending his two terms with a scandal-free record.
In a recent interview, Valerie Jarrett told CNN’s Fareed Zakaria, “The president prides himself on the fact that his administration hasn’t had a scandal and that he hasn’t done anything to embarrass himself.  But that’s not because he’s being someone other than who he is.  That’s because that’s who he is — that’s who they are — and I think that’s what really resonates with the American people.”
However, Tom Fitton, the head of a conservative group called Judicial Watch, is quoted as saying about her statement, “This is delusional. The Obama administration has a scandal rap sheet longer than my arm. Between just the IRS abuses, Benghazi, and the Hillary Clinton scandals, this administration was even more corrupt than Nixon’s.”
Nevertheless, the president himself had expressed a similar sentiment while giving a speech in Peru less than two months ago, saying, “I am extremely proud of the fact that over eight years we have not had the kinds of scandals that have plagued other administrations.”
In response, the Daily Wire posted a list of 11 events it claims qualify as scandals during his terms including those listed by Fitton as well as allegations of phone records abuses and Iran hostage payments.
