Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez endorsed New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Cuomo is being challenged for his position from actress Cynthia Nixon. In the past Perez advocated for that national party not endorsing anyone in particular. Nixon is taking a left and progressive approach to her campaign, saying Cuomo is out of touch with progressives. Perez endorsed Cuomo by listing his progressive accomplishments, such as supporting a $15 minimum wage.
