Casting an extra degree of doubt on plans for the historic summit between North Korea and the United States,... President Trump says he will know next week whether the meeting is still on.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity,... U.S. government officials say some of Trump's inner circle will by flying to Singapore this weekend to meet with North Korean officials to prepare for the summit.
Kim Hyo-sun tells us more.
U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he'll know next week whether the first-ever North Korea-U.S. summit will be held as scheduled.
This comes a day after Trump said the summit may not work out on the scheduled date if U.S. conditions are not met.

"Some day a date will happen. It could very well be June 12 some day a date will absolutely happen. It could very well be June 12th we'll see we'll know next week."

He also stressed the meeting will be a great thing for Pyongyang.

"Well we're going to see what happens on Singapore we're going to see. And it could happen could very well happen. But whatever it is that we will know next week about Singapore and if we go I think it will be a great thing for North Korea."

According to unnamed U.S. government sources,... White House aides are preparing to travel to Singapore this weekend for a working-level meeting with their North Korean counterparts.
They are expected to discuss the details of the summit,... such as the agenda and logistics.
But as Pyongyang canceled working-level talks which were scheduled for last week,... it remains to be seen whether the two sides will meet this time to prepare for what many are calling "the summit of the century."
