The opportunity for dialogue between North Korea and the U.S. will disappear if a summit between the leaders doesn't take place within this year.
That's according to pro-North Korea newspaper Chosun Sinbo on Wednesday,... which said Pyeongyang is ready for both dialogue and confrontation.
It added that the North is patiently waiting for a courageous decision from Washington,... but is also preparing to take a "new path" as said by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in his New Year's address.
Kim had also given the U.S. until the end of the year to come up with a new proposal to find a breakthrough in their denuclearization talks... following the breakdown of the Hanoi summit in February.
The newspaper said North Korea has carried out tests of newly developed weapons this year,... due to the unstable situation on the peninsula adding that it was strengthening its military power to deter the threat of war.
