Trump: FBI 'Infiltrating A Campaign' To Benefit Another Campaign Would Be A 'Really Big Deal'

President Trump posted another tweet on the reports concerning an FBI informant, who talked to his campaign advisers.

President Trump has continued to speak out about allegations that the U.S. government "spied" on his campaign--this time, calling the possibility "a really big deal."
"If the FBI or DOJ was infiltrating a campaign for the benefit of another campaign, that is a really big deal. Only the release or review of documents that the House Intelligence Committee (also, Senate Judiciary) is asking for can give the conclusive answers. Drain the Swamp!" Trump tweeted Saturday.
This remark comes after he had already posted two tweets on the matter.
"Reports are there was indeed at least one FBI representative implanted, for political purposes, into my campaign for president. It took place very early on, and long before the phony Russia Hoax became a 'hot' Fake News story. If true - all time biggest political scandal!" Trump wrote Friday.
And in a tweet on Thursday, Trump stated, "Wow, word seems to be coming out that the Obama FBI "SPIED ON THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN WITH AN EMBEDDED INFORMANT." Andrew McCarthy says, "There's probably no doubt that they had at least one confidential informant in the campaign." If so, this is bigger than Watergate!"
The president was likely referring to McCarthy's recent piece in the National Review where he uses a New York Times report as a basis to say that "the Obama administration used its counterintelligence powers to investigate the opposition party's presidential campaign."
McCarthy then goes on to call the bureau's actions "an abuse of power."
The Times story he mentions refers to a government informant who reportedly met with Trump campaign officials amid the FBI's broader goal of trying to uncover potential ties with Russia.
In a later piece, the Times rebutted the president's claim of politically motivated spying, stating, "F.B.I. agents sent an informant to talk to two campaign advisers only after they received evidence that the pair had suspicious contacts linked to Russia during the campaign."
