National Assembly to review government’s US$3.69 bil. supplementary budget bill
  • 6 years ago
With Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon urging the National Assembly on Tuesday to approve the government's supplementary budget,... the bill is set to be reviewed by lawmakers in the coming hours.
Described by the PM as an "emergency budget" aimed at addressing Korea's worsening youth unemployment crisis,... the review comes around a month after the government submitted the nearly three-point-seven billion U.S. extra budget bill to parliament.
Of the total,... two-point-six billion dollars will be poured into efforts to create good quality jobs for young people.
The rest will be spent on boosting regional economies suffering from corporate restructuring in the shipbuilding and auto sectors.
If talks go smoothly,.. the bill will be put up for a full floor vote on Friday.
