Yellowstone's Steamboat Geyser Erupts Five Times in 2018

Yellowstone National Park’s Steamboat Geyser erupted for the fifth time of the year on Sunday, May 13. The US Geographical Survey reported the eruption took place at 4am.The geyser, the tallest in the world, has gone through significant lengths of inactivity, with its last eruption reported in 2014. This year, Steamboat previously erupted on March 15, April 19, April 27 and May 4.“No implications for volcanic activity, but good implications for viewing some spectacular geysering this summer,” the USGS said in a tweet about the May 13 eruption.This video shows the aftermath of the May 4 eruption of the activity filmed on May 5.
