S. Korea's ruling party to pick new floor leader

The ruling Democratic Party of Korea will be electing a new floor leader today.
It's a two-way race between three term lawmakers -- Noh Woong-rae and Hong Young-pyo.
The incoming whip will be replacing Woo Won-shik... and will take the helm for the next twelve months.
Whoever gets the nod faces a number of challenges.
First, he must deal with a standoff between rival parties that has intensified over a special counsel probe into an online opinion rigging scandal.
Despite negotiations this week, rival parties failed to reach a compromise -- and the National Assembly remains gridlocked.
The new whip must also seek ways to step up cooperation with the opposition bloc... for the smooth roll out of the Moon administration's policy goals.
The result is expected at in the next couple of hours.
