Prepare to Be Bewitched by This Nocturnal Lemur Eating Her Nighttime Snack
  • 6 years ago
A nocturnal lemur called an aye-aye living in Denver Zoo was filmed eating a tasty treat, and using her extended middle digit to scoop out the food from a container and transfer it to her mouth. The aye-aye, which looks almost extraterrestrial thanks to her large eyes reflecting in the dark, was so busy with her treat, she didn’t notice the camera trained on her by zookeepers.Denver Zoo wrote, “aye-ayes have special adaptations to be nocturnal, such as large eyes to see better in the dark and big ears in order to hear better. They also have an extended middle digit on their hands that is used for tapping on trees in order to listen for bugs deep within.”The video had over 7,600 views at the time of writing.
