When Delhi's Akbar Road was briefly renamed Maharana Pratap Road
  • 6 years ago
New Delhi's iconic Akbar Road was briefly 'renamed' Maharana Pratap Road on May 9 before the original signboard was restored under police supervision. A poster with 'Maharana Pratap Road' written in Hindi was found pasted on the signboard of the road which has residences of several Union ministers, BJP chief Amit Shah and the Congress office. No one claimed responsibility for the incident which happened on the birth anniversary of the Mewar warrior. Akbar Road signboard was defaced in 2016 as well when a right-wing outfit, Hindu Sena, had pasted posters of 'Maharana Pratap Marg' on it.
