Innocent Londoner jailed for 7 years seeks compensation at Supreme Court

An innocent man who served more than seven years in prison for a crime he did not commit today started an appeal for compensation at the Supreme Court in London.
Sam Hallam was just 17-years old when he was wrongfully convicted for murder in 2005 and sentenced to life imprisonment.
In 2012 he was released after it was found police had failed to disclose evidence that proved Hallam was not at the scene of the murder.
Today was his third attempt at seeking compensation after two previous attempts heard at the Royal Courts of Justice.
Hallam was surrounded by family and supporters as he entered the Supreme Court this morning, including Patrick Hill, one of the Birmingham Six, a group of men wrongfully imprisoned for the infamous pub bombings.
