Taking Suo Motu cognisance, the Supreme Court pulled up Himachal Pradesh government. This came, a day after government officer was shot dead by the owner of a guesthouse in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh while she was supervising demolition of an illegal structure. One of the labourers who came with the officer was also hit by the bullet. The top court pulled up state govt for not providing adequate security to officials carrying out demolition work as per court's order. According to Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur a status report will be submitted in the Apex court today.
