Security Forces Deployed as Demonstrators Block Road to Airport in Armenian Capital

Protesters blocked roads to the main airport in the Armenian capital, Yerevan, on May 2, after opposition leader Nikol Pashinyan’s bid to become Prime Minister was blocked in parliament the previous day, Radio Free Europe reported.Pashinyan called on his supporters on Tuesday to resume their campaign of civil disobedience, including labor strikes and the blocking of streets and the Yerevan subway, Aravot reported.The outlet said protesters blocked several roads in the capital, including a route to Zvartnots International Airport, forcing travelers to walk.This footage shows protesters and Armenian security forces that were deployed to the airport on Wednesday.
