The Presidential Office of Cheong Wa Dae said it is looking for ways to establish a peace treaty on the Korean Peninsula at the upcoming inter-Korean summit.
A high-level official during a press briefing on Wednesday said,.... the South Korean government is looking into the possibility of converting the Korean War ceasefire agreement..... into a peace treaty at the April 27th summit.
The official hinted that an agreement between the two Koreas could be made at the inter-Korean summit,.... followed by the declaration of the end of the Korean War at the U.S.-North Korea summit,.... but underscored that this needs thorough discussion with the parties directly involved.
The announcement comes in response to President Trump's comments.... made during his two-day talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe,.... where he said,... that the two Koreas are discussing an end to the war.
