Australian firefighters battle bushfire near Sydney
  • 6 years ago
Hundreds of firefighters in Australia are tackling, for the second night, a massive bush fire that has engulfed more than 25-hundred hectares near Sydney.
The blaze began on Saturday in Holsworthy in the southwest of the city and spread quickly due to strong winds.
Firefighters were taking advantage of better conditions on Sunday to contain the fire, which has died down.
Police believe the fire may have been started deliberately and are investigating possible arson.
