The charge sheet in the Kathua rape and murder case has been filed and has revealed shocking details. The eight-year-old nomadic Muslim Bakarwal girl was kidnapped on January 10 in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua while grazing horses near her home, held captive in a temple, sedated and raped repeatedly before being killed in a plot hatched by the main suspect, a retired government official, officials have said. The charge sheet also said that it was part of a carefully planned strategy to remove the minority nomadic community from the area. Protests had erupted earlier too in support of the accused. Hindu Ekta Manch Manch members had held Jammu to a standstill. Yesterday, lawyers in Jammu blocked the Jammu-Pathankot highway for the accused, along with some other issues. 2 BJP MLAs have also come out in support of the accused.
