Hillary Clinton To Critics Who Want Her To 'Shut Up': 'They Never Said That To Any Man'

Hillary Clinton on Thursday had a blunt message for her critics who tell her to "go away."

Hillary Clinton has a blunt message for those who want her to "get off the public stage and shut up."
During her appearance at Rutgers University on Thursday, Ruth Mandel, director of the university's Eagleton Institute of Politics, asked about her response to those critics who want her to stop talking about the 2016 election.
"I was really struck by how people said that to me, mostly people in the press, for whatever reason, 'go away, go away,'" Clinton said. "And I had one of the young people who works for me go back and do a bit of research. They never said that to any man who was not elected. I was kind of struck by that."
"Al Gore didn't stop talking about climate change. And I'm really glad John Kerry went to the Senate and became an excellent Secretary of State. And I'm really glad John McCain kept speaking out and standing up and saying what he had to say," she continued.
Clinton has frequently spoken about the 2016 election and recently faced criticism for her characterization of the Trump campaign as "backward" looking.
In response, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters, "I think that's a perfect example of why Hillary Clinton is not in the White House."
