According to a report by CNN, Catalonia's former separatist leader Carles Puigdemont was detained in Germany on Sunday, after crossing over the border from Denmark. Puigdemont's lawyer announced on Twitter that the ex-President of Spain's northern Catalonia region is currently being held at a police station in Germany. Puigdemont had been living in self-imposed exile in Belgium since October last year, after leading Catalan's controversial referendum seeking to secede from Spain.
