South Korean gov't plans to submit constitutional reform bill to National Assembly this week

Hoping to speed up the process of constitutional reform,... the South Korean government is set to submit its bill on revision before President Moon Jae-in embarks on his trip to Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates this week.
The Presidential Office of Cheong Wa Dae says the bill is expected to be submitted to the National Assembly on Wednesday.
The draft proposal includes scrapping the current single five-year presidential term limit and replacing it with a renewable four-year term similar to the U.S. system.
The draft was presented by a presidential advisory committee last week.
The Presidential Office's draft was introduced first,... as the rival political parties have yet to reach a consensus on their revision plan.
The government hopes to hold a referendum on a Constitutional revision at the same time as local elections in June.
